Brighton Middle School TCAP Testing Dates

Students are required to take TCAP. This cannot be completed at home.  Please send your child to school for testing on ALL of the following dates:

Monday, April 26 ELA Part 4 9:00

Thursday, April 29 Science 9:30

Monday, May 3 Social Studies 10:10

*Students should report to the cafeteria by 7:40 a.m. It is very important that testing begins on time!

*Please enter the building through the car riders’ line. Pick up will be in front of the school.

*Students need to bring a #2 pencil and a calculator (if available).

Testing for Distance Learners

State Board Policy requires that we administer a skills test three times per year in reading, math, and written expression. This cannot be completed online from home.

Please send your child to school to complete testing during one of the following sessions:

April 8th (Thursday) 8:30-10:30

April 9th (Friday) 8:30-10:30 OR 12:00-2:00

Students will report to the library upon arrival. We will have staff available to guide them to this location.

Grades 6-8 testing will take approximately 2 hours. If your child finishes testing before the allotted time, they will be allowed to contact you and leave upon completion.

Parent pick up and drop off will be in front of the school.

** Please arrive promptly so that testing may begin on time**

Students are required to take a standards based test three times per year in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. This cannot be completed online from home.

Please send your child to school to complete testing during one of the following sessions:

March 5th (Friday) 8:00-12:00 OR 12:00-4:00

March 12th (Friday) 8:00-12:00 OR 12:00-4:00

Students will report to the library upon arrival. We will have staff available to guide them to this location.

Grades 6-8 testing will take approximately 4 hours. If your child finishes testing before the allotted time, they will be allowed to contact you and leave upon completion.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences that were scheduled for February 11 have been rescheduled for this Thursday, February 25, 3:15 - 6pm. Please contact your child’s teachers to schedule a time. Remember these will be conducted by phone or zoom.

Distance Learning Packets

Packet pickup for distance learners will be postponed till next Monday, March 1 from 3:15-5:30. Student work can be dropped off during school hours (7:30-4:00) this week, or it can be dropped off during packet pickup on Monday.

BMS Football Tryouts

Football Tryouts will still be held tomorrow, Tuesday, February 23. Due to conferences this Thursday, tryouts will continue next week on Tuesday, March 2 and Thursday, March 4. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Larry at lwilliams@tipton-county.com

BMS Basketball Announcement
Tuesday, February 2nd BMS will be hosting the TMSAA Sectional Tournament between the Brighton Middle School Cardinals and Riverdale. Game starts at 7:20 p.m. Due to Governor Bill Lee’s executive order only immediate family members and grandparents may attend during the Covid-19 pandemic. Basketball tickets will be sold at the door to family members on the coaches list ONLY. In order to enter the game, all adults and school age children must be on this list. Cost is $5 and does not include season passes. Also, according to TSSAA and the Tipton County mask mandate, masks must be worn by spectators at all times while in the facility, and you must social distance from other family groups. If you are a family member of a team member and would like to attend, email Coach Rogers to have your name added to the list.
