Community Service Project

2014 BMS Community Service Project

The BMS Science Club is sponsoring a blanket and non-slip sock drive for senior citizens at two care facilities in Covington.  There are approximately 170 seniors total residing at these two facilities.  We would really appreciate your help to provide for our seniors.  They are often forgotten during this season of giving.

2014 Operation Christmas Child

2014 Operation Christmas Child


We will be collecting gifts November 3-7, 2014 for boys and girls ages 2-14 in third world countries around the world. A member of GEMS will come to your room to collect the items on Friday, November 7th during Cardinal Time. Please ask students to bring in shoeboxes. They can be actual shoeboxes or the plastic ones you can purchase at the store. Thank you for your help in spreading Christmas cheer to children around the world!

Items to bring include the following:
School supplies- pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons or markers, writing pads or paper, coloring, rulers and picture books

Toys- small dolls, toy jewelry, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, balls, cars, puzzles, blocks, stickers, or stencils

Hygiene Items- toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap, comb, washcloth, hair accessories

Items NOT to bring include the following:

used or damaged items, war related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures, chocolate or food, candy, liquid medication, breakable or glass containers.

BMS Book Fair

Book Fair will be October 27- November 4.  We will be open for both Parent/Teacher Conference nights.  

2014 Costume Day

Brighton Middle School boys and girls basketball teams will be sponsoring a costume day fundraiser.  Students will be allowed to wear a costume to school for $3.00. 

 Guidelines for all costumes:                                                                     

-Costume must be in good taste

-Mild face painting is allowed

-Wigs are allowed as part of costume

-Sunglasses are allowed as part of costume

-No cross-dressing

-Costumes must be in compliance with the school dress code (no shorts, mini-skirts, etc…)

-Any other article that may be disruptive to the classroom is not allowed.

Students who do not abide by the costume guidelines will be sent to the office to call home. If you are uncertain about a costume, it is best not to wear it to school.
