6th Grade Parent Orientation Night
If you are a parent or guardian of an incoming 6th grade student entering Brighton Middle School for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year, you are invited to our 6th Grade Parent Orientation Night on Tuesday, July 29 from 6:00 pm - 7:30pm in the Brighton Middle School cafeteria.  Ms. Matthews, the school principal, as well as other faculty and staff, will share many things with you about Brighton Middle, including classes offered, expectations of students, rules and regulations, dress code, tips on how to support your child in middle school, and much more. Again, this is for parents and guardians only of incoming 6th grade students. Hope to see you there.

2014-2015 BMS Band
 
There are openings available for sixth grade students to join the Brighton Middle School Band. Band not only teaches students how to play an instrument, but also teaches students the valuable life skills, such as leadership, teamwork, and persistence. If your student would like to join band or you have any questions, please email our band director, Mr. Mayo, at jmayo@tipton-county.com or call at 901-840-9420. Thank you.

2014-2015 New Student Registration

2014-2015 New Student Registration
 
New Student Registration is July 22, 2014 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. This is for any student new to Tipton County Schools.
New students will need the following information to complete registration:
*State Birth Certificate
*Social Security Card
*TN Immunization From (Green card needed for out of state students)
*Proof of Grade Placement (report card or withdrawal papers from previous school)
*Two Proofs of Address
 
The following items will be considered as proof of residence:
*Property tax records which indicate the location of the homestead
*Mortgage documents or property deed
*Apartment or home lease
*Current utility bills showing residence address
*Automobile registration
*Voter precinct identification
 
Any document which evidences only a post office box as an address shall not be accepted.

2014 7th Grade Immunizations

2014 7th Grade Immunizations
Reminder to all incoming 7th grade students - You are required to have documentation of the following immunizations in order to register for the upcoming school year.
Tetanus
*Chicken Pox - 1st Dose
*Chicken Pox - 2nd Dose
*History of Chicken Pox
*Immunizations listed on new state immunization form
We will need this information mailed or faxed to the school no later than July 30, 2014 in order for your child to register for the 2014 – 2015 school year. The school fax number is 840-9475.

2014 Lady Cardinal Soccer

BMS will hold soccer tryouts for all BMS girls, including our new 6th graders, on July 7th and 8th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Please meet behind the school by the soccer goals. More information about soccer and the upcoming season will be given at that time. We look forward to seeing any interested girls there!

Girls Soccer Conditioning was originally set for June 24, but has been postponed until July. As soon as dates and times are set, all incoming 6th grade female students, as well as current female students at BMS will receive a call out from the school. In addition, the information will also be posted on the school website and Facebook.

2014 TCAP Scores

2014 TCAP Scores
TCAP scores for Brighton Middle School have been posted and can be seen through Parent Connect. If you do not have access to Parent Connect, you can come to the school to receive TCAP scores between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm beginning tomorrow through Thursday, June 5. TCAP scores will not be given over the telephone. Please note - TCAP reports are not available until the Fall and all scores are subject to change.

BMS Football Camp

BMS Football Camp
Dates:  June 2 - June 6
           June 9 - June 13
           June 16 - June 20
           July 7 - July 11
Time:  8:00 am - 11:30 am
Cost:  $50.00 per week (may sign up for as many weeks as you wish)

Extra Information: 
*Participants will be instructed in drills that will help improve their speed and agility, which will be applicable and advantageous in ALL sports
*Camps will also include instruction and time in the BHS weight room, where proper weight-lifting techniques will be taught
*Football drills and techniques will be emphasized
*A light breakfast and lunch will be provided
*Upcoming 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades may participate
